Steven Thomas was tutored by Allen Jones, Patrick Caulfield & John Hoyland. in the painting studios of Chelsea School of Art.
Rejecting a further post-graduate year to work in the rock’n’roll business prior to forming Whitmore-Thomas Design.
During the first ten years of practice there were just three clients, Biba, the Rolling Stones & Paul McCartney. Eventually broadening the list to include a chunk of global blue chips – from Pepsi Cola to the Roux Brothers, not forgetting Spam Lite! The entire archive of work is now in the V&A Museum. A great accolade.
But now his life is back to that of an artist, creating artworks which have been exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Tate Liverpool, Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, 45 Park Lane, Linden Hall Studio – and Chelsea Arts Club!
