Timothy Emlyn Jones is a Welsh-Irish artist who lives and works in Burren, Ireland.  

 

Educated at the Royal College of Art, London, where Professor Christopher Cornford described him as “arguably the finest draughtsman of his generation", and the Cité 
Internationale des arts, Paris and he was also a member of Joseph Beuys’s Free International University.  

Timothy regularly exhibits internationally with solo shows as well as group exhibitions such as Documenta, Kassel (with the FIU), São Paulo Museum of Modern Art, and the Budapest Spring Festival at the Hungarian Academy of Art. He is represented in numerous public collections in several countries. He has held professorships at several major art schools internationally and is currently Dean of Possibilities at Burren College of Art, Ireland.

These works explore how sight and the vast emptiness of the air dance together over the sea. The common theme of these works is the interdependence of openness and closure in human consciousness.
